Thank you. I love you too! Thank you for all the posts/texts/tweets/ect. I really appreciate it! THANK YOU MY WIFEY! <3
While on the plane home from my East Coast trip I called my Mom to tell her we had landed safely and asked if we could go see my Nanie in the hospital (12:30 am) she answered with “we’ll see” I remember walking down the terminal so excited to see my family. The doors opened and my Dad was the first person I saw, I ran to him and hugged/kissed him and then came my older brother, and finally my Mom. After all the hugging and kissing my Mom looked me straight in the face and said “We have something to tell you.” The serious look in her eyes made me realize something had gone wrong. She said, “Nanie didn’t make it.” And in front of anybody and everybody at the airport my Mom and I cried on the airport floor together. Each one of my family members has their own story on what happened the day of her death. I’ve heard them all and can’t get over the fact of my brother punching the Hospital wall almost giving the patient next door a heart attack, or my older brother deciding he was going to go out with some friends for the first time in so long, he always wanted to be with my Nanie in the hospital. And my Mom, my beautiful Mom, who decided that for one of the first times she was going to go to my Nanie’s house (who lived up the street from the Hospital she was at) and get some sleep, (my Mom stayed over night with my Nanie almost every night). God had a plan for us to all conveniently be gone the morning my Nanie left. I don’t know why, and I won’t argue or hate against His decision, but it sure has always left me curious. Four years today. “Her Love Will Live In Our Hearts Forever.” -Mom
